Pillar Hans Swinkels
Material: Bluestone on Granite base.
Dimensions: L10xB10XH74 cm. Base: 20x20cm.
Part of a series of mathematical forms, with both large and small pillars made from various materials. Two large ones (1.75m) stand in gardens in Nijmegen and Rijen.
The structure features straight lines from the top’s corner points to the base’s corners, as well as from the center points. When moving a ruler horizontally along the vertical surfaces, it twists downward in a straight motion, a hyperboloidshape, similar to the design of Tilburg Station.
